Fabrice Hawkins claims that Chelsea is looking to add a right winger to the roster before the transfer market closes. Unfortunately, the plan to sign Michael Olise has fallen through, thus the team is now focusing on Bradley Barcola.
The 20-year-old star of Olympique Lyon has improved dramatically over the previous year, making him a promising future star for his team. For Chelsea, who are building their team around young talent, Barcola seems like a natural addition. Therefore, the Blues are attempting to sign him to a contract with the team.
Michael Olise of Crystal Palace was their top target. It was reported that they were getting close to signing his release clause for £35 million. A agreement appeared likely, while final terms had not yet been discussed. However, the player has decided to sign a new contract with the Eagles, indicating his long-term dedication to the team.

Olise has rejected an offer to join the Blues. Since they have nowhere else to turn, they have settled on making an all-out effort to eliminate Barcola. He has been a part of the Lyon organization since he was a kid, and now he’s 20. He worked his way up through the club’s system and has been a regular member of the first squad since the upcoming season of 2022–2023.
He has played in 45 games with their first squad since being called up, assisting on 19 goals. Last year, he played in 35 games and logged over 2100 minutes of playing time, leading to 17 of his 19 goal contributions.

His outstanding shows have garnered a lot of notice. There is interest in him even from Paris Saint-Germain. However, the Blues want to further up their pursuit of him in the hopes of finally bringing him to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea is currently in negotiations with the French team. Olympique Lyon, meantime, is willing to negotiate his exit, despite having previously turned down an offer of €35 million plus add-ons. Barcola is high on the Blues’ want list, and the team is widely anticipated to make significant roster changes in the near future.
